“Pressure Free Kick”, created by Tokyo creative agency UltraSuperNew is an interactive playable manga game accessed via Tag Heuer’s Instagram account @tagheuerjapan, on Instagram Stories.
The game turns the Instagram slider sticker into a shoot bar which challenges users to score a free kick that gives their team the winning goal and possibly win free tickets to a match.
“Tag Heuer actually lives by their motto: ‘Don’t Crack Under Pressure’, said Francois Claverie, Creative Director of UltraSuperNew in Tokyo. “They love a challenge as much as we do. Our first campaign, the ‘Pressure PK’ X bot game, was a lot of fun to develop, and generated levels of engagement we could not have anticipated. With ‘Pressure Free Kick’, we hope to repeat the feat on Instagram, with this fresh twist on Instagram Stories.”
While manga aesthetics has been employed by numerous brands including a Nissin Ramen’s Manchester United commercial four years ago, nevertheless, the latest Tag Heuer campaign makes a simple, effective use of Instagram Stories.
