Following the release of “Rockstar”, her latest single earlier this month, Blackpink’s Lisa has joined the likes of BTS’ J-Hope, Stray Kids’ Felix and New Jeans’s Hyein as house ambassadors of Louis Vuitton.
The 27-year-old rapper and dancer is no stranger to luxury fashion endorsements, previously being the face of Celine, another LVMH owned label. The trendsetting superstar has clout in the fashion world since her debut with the K-pop girl group in 2016.
Following the announcement, Nicolas Ghesquiere, Louis Vuitton’s artistic director of women’s collections, stated, “I am very excited to welcome Lisa as a house ambassador. She has a daring spirit and charisma that I find incredibly compelling. She is as bold and creative with her music as she is with her fashion, and it is a privilege to accompany her on this journey.”
According to ASN data, Louis Vuitton (12.8%, ~US$15.4m) continues to be largest spender for its category in the Asian sponsorship market since Q421, with a quarterly average investment of US$1.34m during this period. Obviously, the luxury label specialises with celebrity endorsements; with most deals in the US$220k to US$480k range, and the three top markets for its spending is China (82.9%), India (7%) and South Korea (4.7%).
