Beverage behemoth Coca-Cola has sealed a multi-year partnership with the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
Under the deal Coca-Cola has also been named the official beverage partner for all formats and categories, which include the men’s team, women’s team, and U-19 teams till February 2026.
In a further boost to the women’s cricketing scene, Coca-Cola has also been named the official kit sponsor for the women’s national cricket team from this March to July 2027.
The partnership represents a giant step ahead for the beverage brand’s efforts to encourage sports and empower women in Bangladesh.
Ju-un Nahar, Managing Director at Coca-Cola Bangladesh, said,“Sports holds immense power to unite people, and this partnership with the Bangladesh Cricket Board provides us with a unique opportunity to blend our brand affinity with the fervor for Cricket. With the sponsorship of the national women’s cricket team and providing support to all levels of cricket, we aim to promote inclusivity and encourage more women to pursue their passion for cricket and sport in Bangladesh.”
As part of the deal, Coca-Cola will also support players, staff, and spectators with beverages during all games and events as the official beverage partner.
BCB CEO, Nizam Uddin Chowdhury, said, “We are proud to have Coca-Cola as our kit sponsor and official beverage partner. This partnership aligns perfectly with our vision to elevate women’s cricket and nurture talent at all levels.”
According to ASN data, cricket (80.4%, ~US$11.8m) is the largest backed sport in the Bangladeshi sponsorship market since Q221. In fact, Q124’s investment is tipped to hit slightly over US$5.3m. As for Coca-Cola (~US$410m), it has been historically the beverage brand that has invested the most in the cricket sponsorship market in South Asia since Q221. However, spends have plummeted to a mere US$6.9m, almost a fifth of the quarterly average spend of slightly over US$34.7m.
