Hana Financial Group has secured an endorsement from the King of K-pop G-Dragon late last week.
The Korean financial group emphasised the 36-year-old musical icon’s trendy, creative image matches its lofty aspirations to create new value in its industry.
G-Dragon, who has triumphantly returned to the music industry with ‘Power’ a chart-topping single after a seven years break last October, is thrilled about his deal with Hana Financial Group.
He stated, “It is even more meaningful and special because it is a partnership with Hana Financial Group, which has consistently carried out interesting marketing activities. I am very excited, as I believe we can try something new and unprecedented in the fields of advertising and marketing.”
Apart from G-Dragon, Hana Financial Group also has similar endorsement deals with Spurs captain Son Heung-Min, trot singer Lim Young-woong, K-pop girl group IVE’s An Yu-jin and TV host-comedian Kang Ho-dong.
With so much star power on board, it plans to carry out customised branding messages with each celebrity that speaks to their respective targeted audiences.
Speaking to Korean media, a Hana spokesperson stated, “Following Son Heung-min’s healthy leadership, Lim Young-woong’s warm consideration, Ahn Yu-jin’s youthful and bright energy and Kang Ho-dong’s reliable partnership, G-Dragon’s unique trendy and creative character has been added (to the group). We will provide new and innovative brand content so that more customers can look forward to a better tomorrow in finance.”
According to ASN data, Hana Financial Group has invested almost US$5.9m in the Asian sponsorship market since Q222, with an average quarterly investment of US$490k during this period. The bulk of the investment (96.9%) has been invested in South Korea for major deals with the likes of K-League, South Korean National Football Team, Korean PGA and South Korean Luge Federation.
