Vietnamese sportswear manufacturer Dong Luc Group renews its sponsorship deals with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the Vietnam Professional Football JSC (VPF) late last month.
The local sportswear manufacturer will continue backing VFF till 2024 while extending its ties with VPF, the organising body behind V-League, the nation’s elite football tournament from 2023 to 2025.
In addition to a higher sponsorship value worth over US$3.6m, the group will also provide more balls for competitions and training activities, and uniforms for referees and officials in tournaments.
Dong Luc Group has been a major player in its category for backing Vietnamese athletes in regional and global sporting meets, including the SEA Games, Asian Games and Olympics. It has also been the ball sponsor for the national football championship for the last 25 years.
According to ASN data, Vietnam is the 7th largest market (2.2%) for Asian football sponsorship industry worth over almost US$60.8m since Q120. However, football sponsorship has taken a slide (bringing in US$2.7m to US$4.7m) from its quarterly average of over US$5.2m since Q221 and things are likely to pick up in the upcoming quarter as the quadrennial AFC Asian Cup returns to Qatar next year.
