Unilever-owned shampoo brand Clear has backed the world’s “smartest” football pundit in Indonesia, in a landmark marketing campaign, through a collaboration with the hugely popular football platform Goal.com, and sports data partner, Stats Perform Opta.
Clear Headsmart is a real-time simulation machine, able to perform 100,000 forecasts per match in order to predict the results. The audience: tens of millions of football fans in Indonesia. The comprehensive branded content strategy is being served with football website partner Goal (goal.com), through its website and social media channels, including X and a live blog.
The innovative, live data match predictor is powered by Stats Perform’s Opta technology, which follows crucial real-time match events such as goals and disciplinary cautions to forecast win probability.
According to the companies, the Goal editorial team will create over 500 pieces of relevant, engaging content during the campaign.
“Clear Headsmart is rooted in the insight of what football fans engage with and share throughout their weekly content consumption cycle and will deliver a new, innovative and exciting talking point for fans around the most-watched matches each weekend,” said Andy Jackson, VP of Strategy for Goal in APAC.
The initiative was structured by media agency Mindshare, whose head of Team Unilever (Indonesia), RK Narayanan, said, “The campaign places Clear into the fan conversation with credibility and authenticity.” The idea combines the power of data, innovation and creativity to create a market-first football experience for Indonesian fans.
