Lululemon has made Chinese ace swimmer Wang Shun a brand ambassador to ramp up its presence in China’s sports community.
The 32-year-old swimmer known for his versatility, made history as the first Asian to win a gold medal at the men’s 200m individual medley when he came first in the event for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Prior to this endorsement deal, Wang Shuo had also collaborated with Lululemon on campaigns, events, and community-focused initiatives, including the brand’s 2025 Summer Sweat Games in Chengdu.
According to ASN data, Lululemon has invested US$384k in the Asian sponsorship market since Q424, namely in China. The brand tends to focus on celebrity endorsement deals, an ongoing deal worth US$305k with Chinese singer Li Yuchun. Previous deals included Chinese actor Shawn Dou’s two-year endorsement worth US$469k and a similar one with HK actress Celina Jade worth US$431k.
