After releasing its Fall/Winter collection, premium outerwear brand Canada Goose has appointed Taiwanese actor and singer Greg Hsu as its latest global brand ambassador.
The 34-year-old dashing entertainer, who is renowned for his roles in Taiwanese soaps Have You ever Fallen in Love, Miss Jiang? and Someday or One Day and a meander into singing, was picked to the face of the brand’s transition from utilitarian heavy winter wear to focus on stylish lighter, year-round gear.
The move led by Haider Ackermann, Canada Goose’s first-ever Creative Director, who took the reins in May 2024, is focused on Asia, and particularly East Asia, to push its growth for its urban streetwear inspired offerings, as the China’s appetite for luxury apparel continues to grow.
According to ASN data, Canada Goose had previously spent a collective sum of US$70k backing two editions of Busan International Film Festival in 2015 and 2016, and its last big endorsement worth US$210k was with Chinese Canadian actor Shawn Dou in 2019. Its latest endorsement with Greg Hsu shows that it wants a slice of the booming athleisure apparel market in China.
