Reignwood Group’s real estate arm Reignwood Park has clinched a deal to become the title sponsor of the Icons Series golf tournament debuting in Thailand next March.
The tournament sees legendary athletes—including football stars such as Robbie Fowler, Paul Scholes, Gabriel Batistuta, Luis Figo and Peter Schmeichel— battling out in teams captained by golfers Lee Westwood and Sergio Garcia at Robinswood Golf Club in Lam Ku Ka, Thailand from March 1-2, 2025.
According to ASN data, Reignwood Group, the parent company of Reignwood Park, has been dormant in the Asian sponsorship market since 2018, after withdrawing from the Reignwood LPGA classic tournament in China. As for sponsorship spends, the conglomerate has a rich history of investing in golf in the past, including deals with Taiwanese pro Yani Tseng and title sponsoring the Reignwood LPGA Classic to a tune of US$637k and almost US$1.6m respectively. As for its latest deal, it is reportedly investing US$9m for a two-year sponsorship deal covering 2025 and 2026.
When it comes to Thailand’s sponsorship market, golf (15.3%, ~US$51.1m) is the 2nd largest backed sport across the Southeast Asian nation since Q421, with a quarterly average investment of almost US$4.6m during this period. ASN’s forecast for Q324 is an optimistic US$6m after a lull from Q423 to Q224.
