India’s Tennis Premier League (TPL) team, Delhi Binny’s Brigade have announced homegrown celebrity Malaika Arora as their latest brand ambassador.
The 49-year-old multi-talented celebrity, who is known for her fitness regimen, will play an influential role in the Delhi team’s campaign in the fifth edition of the Tennis Premier League (TPL).
Delhi Binny’s Brigade, who have won the league’s most popular team award for the past two seasons, will try to raise their fan engagement by banking on Malaika’s reputation as a leading personality in the Indian fitness and sports community.
Malaika Arora has been passionately pushing for an active lifestyle for individuals of all ages in order to promote holistic development.
Following the announcement, Save Eat founder, CEO of Binny’s Jewellery and owner of Delhi Binny’s Brigade , Sneh Binny, said, “Malaika Arora is an influential figure in the Indian sports and fitness community in addition to being a brilliant Actress, Model, and TV Presenter. Malaika Arora has now joined an extensive list of celebrities who are involved in the league. This includes the likes of Bollywood actors Sonali Bendre, Rakul Preet Singh, Taapsee Pannu, Sonu Sood, as well as, former Indian female tennis star Sania Mirza.
According to ASN data, tennis related sponsorship deals are just a mere 0.1% of India’s US1.8 billion sponsorship market since Q121. Since the peak of Q122 which saw investment of US$852k (5.4 x the average quarterly investment of about US$157.6k), the sport has had seen quarterly investment from US$58k to US$93k in the quarters following the high of Q122.
