Chinese smartphone brand Oppo has struck a deal with China’s League of Legends esports operator TJ Sports, to back all Wild Rift esports competitions in China.
The two-year deal between Oppo and TJ Sports will run from June 2021 until the first half of 2023, and will also cover the yet to be officially named League of Legends Wild Rift Pro League.
OPPO’s Reno 6 Pro+ will serve as the official equipment for players in this tournament. According to ASN data, Oppo has invested over US$2.2m in esports sponsorships across Asia, giving it a market share of 12.8% and cementing its status as the second-largest sponsor for its category over the past three years.
While the brand has major deals wirh the likes of League of Legends and PUBG Mobile Pakistan Challenge, it is still far behind fellow BBK-owned brand Vivo (83.1%, ~US$14.4m) in the esports sponsorship category.
