Vietnam Pro Basketball League (VBA) Nets A Partnership With Genius Sports 

Betting data specialist Genius Sports and the Vietnam Pro Basketball League (VBA) have agreed to a long-term, exclusive partnership.

Through this deal, Genius Sports will support the VBA’s global growth by providing official data tools, live streaming distribution and integrity services while protecting the matches from the possibility of match-fixing.

The VBA 2023 season began last week with seven clubs competing for the title. The VBA’s live broadcasts, scoreboards, websites and other fan-facing platforms will be powered by Genius Sports’ FIBA LiveStats.

 The VBA has also given Genius Sports the right to record and broadcast its authorised live video and data feeds with its international network of partners.

Genius Sports will use 24/7 monitoring technology that employs custom algorithms to immediately flag any suspicious betting activity to protect Vietnam basketball from the potential of match-fixing.

According to ASN data, the past year has been a challenging one for basketball sponsorship in Vietnam with a spate of withdrawals from the likes of McDonald’s, Gatorade, Shopee and VietCredit.
