Aramco owned Valvoline Global has become an official supporter of the next FIFA World Cup, which will take place across Canada, Mexico, and the United States next summer.
This is Valvoline’s landmark deal with a major sporting event, the first edition of an expanded tournament roster featuring 48 national teams competing for the title.
Under the deal, Valvoline is banking on fan engagement activities in select host cities and running promotional activities with its retail partners. Specific details are expected to be announced later this year.
Valvoline Global CEO Jamal Muashsher stated, “The FIFA World Cup 26 will bring people together like nothing else – through passion, performance and the power of possibility.”
“As we approach our 160th anniversary, Valvoline Global is proud to be part of an event that celebrates not just the greatness of the game, but the potential within us all to move the world forward.”
FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafstrom added, “We are thrilled to welcome Valvoline Global, a respected global force in the automotive and industrial sectors, as an official supporter of this historic tournament.”
According to ASN data, Valvoline has invested US$2.1m+ in the Asian sponsorship market since Q124, clinching a deal with Aston Martin F1 Team. Prior to that, its other major partnership was a shirt sponsorship deal with Sunrisers Hyderabad for the 2020 IPL Season.
Meanwhile parent company Aramco has been on a roll, investing almost US$72.2m since Q322 in the Asian sponsorship market; giving it a 16.2%, the second highest share in the market for its category. The company’s influence is still prevalent in the market despite dropping its IPL sponsorship in 2024.
