Japanese apparel giant Uniqlo has expanded its long-term partnership with the International Tennis Federation (ITF).
Under its latest deal, the brand has clinched an official clothing supplier deal with the governing authority of tennis.
Uniqlo will provide apparel for the match officials at all ITF events during the partnership, including the tennis events at the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics.
Prior to this deal, Uniqlo has been the title sponsor of the ITF’s Wheelchair Tennis Tour and since 2014.
Following the deal ITF President David Haggerty said, “I am very grateful for our long-standing partnership with Uniqlo. The LifeWear apparel provides our match officials with functional, comfortable and well-designed clothing, so I am pleased that we will continue to work with Uniqlo.”
Fast Retailing Group Senior Executive Officer Koji Yanai added, “We are delighted to be able to support tennis and wheelchair tennis match officials on the international stage with Uniqlo clothing. The LifeWear we offer is functional, comfortable, and well designed. “
“We believe it will provide comfort not only on the court, but in all settings during the tournament. UNIQLO will continue to work with the ITF in a variety of activities, and through our “Sport and the Power of Clothing” initiative, we aim to contribute to the realisation of a better world.”
According to ASN data, Fast Retailing Group owned Uniqlo (27.3%, US$92.1m+) is the biggest investor for its category in the Asian sponsorship market since Q421, with a quarterly average investment of US$7.7m during this period.
