As part of the agreement, Nextbet will become the club’s official regional partner in Asia to promote its brand and online gambling across the continent. The terms of the arrangement have not been disclosed but the partnership will allow both Napoli and Nextbet to develop their names in Asian markets as a result.
Nextbet marketing director Nikos Diakoumopoulos said, “We’re very pleased to announce our first partnership in football for Nextbet with SSC Napoli. The club is one of the most popular in Italy with a fantastic support base. We’re looking forward to working together.”
News of the deal comes after the Naples club signed a two-year agreement with the South Korean brand Hankook signing up as the club’s tyre sponsor. The challenger brand has been rather subdued in the Asian sponsorship market— namely on home turf and Malaysia—after a peak of US$545k in Q317, and spends have reached a mere US$212k so far in 2018…This means the challenger brand is focusing on its marquee European club football collaborations including Real Madrid, AS Monaco, Borussia Dortmund, Sparta Prague and Spartak Moscow as well as the UEFA Europa League to drum up brand awareness across the globe.
