Saudi-backed Savvy Gaming Group owned esports tournament organiser ESL FACEIT Group have unsurprisingly struck a partnership with Qiddiya City.
The five-year deal sees Saudi Arabian entertainment and tourism mega project Qiddiya City collaborating with ESL FACEIT Group to develop immersive experiences within the city’s dedicated gaming and esports district.
ESL FACEIT Group and Qiddiya City kickstarted their partnership last week during the IEM Chengdu Counter-Strike 2 tournament, where 16 teams were competing for a share of a US$250k prize pool.

According to ASN data, esports has seen sponsorship spend of almost US$79.9m across Asia since Q321, with quarterly average investment hitting almost US$6.7m during the same period. However, investment for Q224 is forecasted to reach a sum slightly above US$4.7m, a 28.9% dip from its quarterly average.
