Ahead of the UEFA Champions League final, Borussia Dortmund have secured a regional partnership with the Vietnamese arm of flooring company Kobler.
The deal, focused on Southeast Asia, will continue for the 2024/25 season with the possibility of further renewal.
Under the deal, Kobler will receive prominent brand exposure during select Borussia Dortmund home game broadcasts across Southeast Asia, along with the rights to utilise Borussia Dortmund logos and player images for marketing campaigns.
The collaboration also has a commitment to boost youth football development across the region.
Following the announcement, Mr Toan Vu, Chief Marketing Officer of Kobler Vietnam, said, “Kobler chose to partner with BVB because we share the same values of excellence and long German heritage that’s well-known and loved worldwide. We are proud to become a regional partner of BVB in Vietnam. With this cooperation, BVB and Kobler expect to bring German values and the spirit of dedication to global enthusiasts, while also setting a new milestone for both brands in East Asia particularly theVietnam market, where Kobler has established a strong market presence through its unique quartz flooring solutions.”
Carsten Cramer, BVB Managing Director, adds, “We are happy to announce Kobler as our first commercial partner in Vietnam, one of our target markets. The partnership stems from similar values that both brands aim for Success and reliability are shared values.”
According to ASN data, football (83.2%, ~US$65.5m) is the largest backed sport in the Vietnamese sponsorship market by a mile since Q321. It has a quarterly average investment of US$5.3m during this period, with much of the major investment going Vietnam’s National Football teams, however, since a spate of withdrawals early this year, spending has dipped to almost US$3.4m in Q124 and forecasted to hit about US$3m in Q224.
