British designer label Burberry have added South Korean actor Son Suk-ku to its roster of celebrity endorsers in Asia.
The 41-year-old veteran is known for his versatility across television and film, having achieved much popularity with his portrayal of an alcoholic Mr Gu in 2022’s JBTC drama series My Liberation Notes, and recently played a detective in this year’s Netflix drama A Killer Paradox.
Following the announcement, Son said, “I’ve long admired Burberry, so it’s a big honour to become Burberry’s ambassador. I look forward to my future journey with Burberry.”
According to ASN data, Burberry has invested US$1.93m in the Asian sponsorship market since Q321, with quarterly investment of almost US$179k. The brand’s spends tend to be focused in South Korea (58.9%) and China (41.1%). Some of the brand’s key deals include ongoing endorsements with South Korean footballer Son Heung Min (US$276k) and Chinese actor Chen Kun (US$536k).
