Energy drink behemoth Red Bull has clinched an endorsement deal with India’s national women’s cricketer Jemimah Rodrigues.
The 25-year-old all-rounder, known for her dynamic performances for the Women In Blue, is quite a catch for Red Bull, as it bids to increase its involvement in Indian sports, particularly women’s cricket, which has skyrocketed in popularity in recent years.
Jemimah Rodrigues’ dynamism perfectly epitomises the Red Bull’s key tenets of energy, passion, performance, and fearless uniqueness.
As Red Bull’s newest brand ambassador, Jemimah will be involved in various Red Bull campaigns, events, and athlete development initiatives. The relationship would also develop into content creation, sports mentoring, and youth involvement programs.
Moreover, her partnership with Red Bull elevates her to an elite group of renowned local and international athletes including the likes of Smriti Mandhana, Shreyas Iyer, Vikram Pratap Singh and KL Rahul.
Historically, Red Bull has been heavily involved in developing sporting potential in India through grassroots programs, talent scouting efforts, and high-performance training platforms. With Jemimah on board, the brand hopes to inspire the next generation of cricketers and fans, particularly young women eager to make an impact in sports.
According to ASN data, Red Bull (13.4%, US$19.1m+) is the 3rd largest investor for its category in the Asian sponsorship market since Q123, with an average quarterly investment of almost US$1.9m during this period.
The forecast for Q425 is poised to hit almost US$3.7m, slightly over 1.9x of the usual average, and comes after a lacklustre 2025 which has so far seen a mere collective spend of US$1.9m+ so far. The top 5 markets for the brand’s investment are Japan (60.3%), Vietnam (18.8%), Malaysia (7.2%), China (5.8%) and India (5.6%). Its diverse range of deals are valued between US$56k and US$11.1m, and football sponsorship features quite heavily in its major deals with spends ranging between US$200k and US$11.1m. It also has an ongoing cricket sponsorship deal with IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals worth US$596k.
