Qatar Airways has extended its multi-year shirt sponsorship with Al Sadd Sports Club, the most successful football club in Qatar.
The renewed deal cements a partnership that began in 2018, ensuring the airline’s logo will continue to feature prominently on Al Sadd’s first-team jerseys across all domestic and international competitions.
As one of Asia’s most decorated football clubs, Al Sadd stands to leverage on the airline’s global reach and brand influence, while Qatar Airways secures sustained visibility across key markets, particularly in Asia.
Following the renewal, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer stated,“We are delighted to renew our partnership with Al Sadd Sports Club, a team that holds a special place in the hearts of many in Qatar. Our renewed collaboration reflects our shared commitment to excellence, community, and nurturing the future generation of talent. Together, we continue to support Qatar’s growing legacy as a global sports hub.”
Al Sadd Sports Club Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Turki Al-Ali, added, “We express our great happiness in renewing the partnership with Qatar Airways. We take pride in the continuation of this partnership and look forward to achieving more successes and accomplishments together in the coming period.”
According to ASN data, Qatar Airways (29.4%, US$117.4m) is the biggest sponsor for its category since Q422, with an average quarterly investment of almost US$10.4m during this period. The forecast for Q325 is tipped to hit US$9.6m and poised to recover from a muted Q225, which only saw US$2.8m in investment. Most of its blockbuster deals come in the sporting world; namely PSG (US$18m+), UEFA Champions League (US$5m), IPL’s Royal Challengers Bangalore (US$5m) and MotoGP (US$2.6m).
