In a landmark deal, the Korea Travel Expo (KTE) has made Korean actor So Ji Sub its first celebrity endorser for its event in Taipei.
Following the deal, KTE stated, “We have appointed actor So Ji Sub, who represents the Republic of Korea, as the public relations ambassador for this event. So Ji Sub will play a key role in promoting Korea’s diverse charms and culture to Taiwanese and international tourists who love Korea.”
“So Ji Sub’s appointment will be a crucial factor in ensuring the success of the Korea Travel Expo. His friendly image and global fanbase will greatly contribute to promoting the appeal of Korean tourism.”
The expo which will take place from 23rd to 26th May—featuring a range of exhibitions and interactive programmes— is expected to be a platform for cementing cultural exchanges between Taiwan and Korea while highlighting Korea’s rich traditional culture and tourist attractions to Taiwanese visitors.
According to ASN data, government body: tourism have invested almost US$132m since Q222, with an average quarterly investment of almost US$11.6m during this period. Q125 is forecasted to hit almost US$22.6m, almost 2x of the usual average quarterly investment. As for sponsorship investment, India (41.2%), South Korea (23.7%) and Thailand (13.9%) are the three largest markets for the spends.
