State-owned Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), one of the biggest oil and gas companies in India, has secured the world’s current top javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra as its brand ambassador.
The tie-up will begin with BPCL’s Premium Petrol ‘Speed’ highlighting the connection between the 26-year-old’s athletic prowess and superior performance in fuel technology.
Following the deal, G. Krishnakumar, Chairman & MD, BPCL, said, “Speed, the hi-performance petrol from Bharat Petroleum personifies peak performance and the thrill of staying ahead each time, every time. Now with bespoke friction modifier technology, your drive fueled by ‘Speed’- not just petrol, is much smoother, delivering accelerated mileage and ensuring peak engine performance.”
“We are happy to have Neeraj Chopra, the epitome of performance, efficiency and consistency, embodying the soaring spirit of the aspirational Indian as our brand ambassador for Speed.”
According to ASN data, BPCL’s last deal in the Asian sponsorship landscape was a US$25k deal with Surjit Hockey Tournament in October 2019. It also had a long-term major endorsement deal in the mid six-figure category with MS Dhoni, which was withdrawn in 2017.
