Saudi Arabian bank Alinma has struck a naming rights deal for Jeddah’s King Abdullah Sports City, which runs till 2029.
Alinma secured the partnership with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Sport that rebrands the venue as Alinma Stadium and believes it aligns with its commitment to back Saudi Vision 2030.
The venue opened in 2014 has a capacity of around 60,000, and has played host to a roster of international events including the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup, Next Gen ATP Finals, WWE and boxing events. It is also slated to host matches for the 2027 Asian Cup and FIFA 2034 World Cup.
According to ASN data, the financial services industry (15.7%, US$19m+) is the 3rd highest investor for venue rights deals since Q222, with an average quarterly investment of US$1.7m+ during this period. After a lacklustre period between Q224 and Q424 with average quarterly investments of US$983k, Q125 is forecasted to hit investment of almost US$1.8m, moving align with the average quarterly investment of US$1.7m+.
