Electrical equipment and home appliances company Havells India has appointed Kollywood power couple; actor Nayanthara and film director Vignesh Shivan, as its brand ambassadors for South India.
The landmark deal is the popular couple’s first-ever brand endorsement together and is a key move by Havells to bank on their influence to deepen the company’s market share in the region.
Under the deal, a new campaign featuring the celebrity couple will soon be launched across TV, print, digital, outdoor, and BTL platforms, strategically targeting key South Indian markets. They will be promoting a diverse range of products including IoT, water heaters, fans, small domestic appliances and lighting solutions.
Following the partnership, Parag Bhatnagar, President- Sales, Havells India, shared, “At Havells, our commitment to delivering excellence drives us to seek out partnerships that amplify our impact. Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan bring a unique blend of charm, creativity, and credibility, connecting us with a broad spectrum of consumers. Their association will not only bolster our presence in the South but also allow us to tap into new avenues of growth and strengthen our connection with diverse audiences across India.”
The star couple shared, “We are grateful to associate with Havells, a brand known for its commitment to innovation, quality, and trust. Their products have seamlessly blended into everyday life, offering convenience and style to modern homes. As individuals who value excellence and meticulous craftsmanship, we fully support Havells’ mission of providing cutting-edge solutions that empower families, especially strengthening the brand’s positioning in the southern markets. We look forward to being part of this journey and connecting with not just the people of South India, but audiences across the entire country.”
According to ASN data, Havells last deal was a US$55k investment in Q222, and its sponsorship plays has been muted since then with a string of high-profile withdrawals such as Star India’s coverage of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and ICC Cricket World Cup, as well as an endorsement with Bollywood star Vicky Kaushal. The latest move with Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan is certain to ramp up Havells’ spends.
