Earlier this month, Japanese video game giant Capcom has renewed its official sponsorship deal with the Japan Volleyball Association (JVA).
The deal which first began in 2022, sees Capcom continue its role as a JVA Top Partner for both the Japan men’s and women’s national volleyball teams, including the beach volleyball teams.
It will also back the various engagement efforts by the JVA to promote volleyball among people of all ages. Besides these community efforts, Capcom will also back volleyball fans as they cheer on the Japanese national teams at the Kaitori Daikichi Volleyball Nations League 2025 Chiba from July 9 to 20.
According to ASN data, Capcom (2.7%, ~US$2.6m) is the 6th largest investor for the Games:Toys (Electronic) category since Q322, with an average quarterly investment of US$254k during this period. Following a lull with a mere US$53k in Q125, things are looking rosier for Q225 with a forecast of US$490k, slightly over 1.9x of its usual average. Unsurprisingly, Capcom solely focuses on sponsorships in Japan, with its key deals being J1 League club Cerezo Osaka (~US$1.7m), Tokyo International Film Festival (US$300k) and Japan Volleyball Association (US$212k).
