Krafton India, the brainchild of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), has struck a deal with Bollywood action star Tiger Shroff as its latest celebrity endorser.
The partnership is a cultural milestone, fusing the worlds of movie and gaming to create a larger-than-life, immersive experience for BGMI’s 240 million members. BGMI players can also get exclusive Tiger Shroff-themed clothing, weapons, and a special voice pack.
Following the collaboration, Seddharth Merrotra, Head of Business Development and Partnerships, Krafton India, stated, “With BGMI, our vision has always been to create moments that are not just played, but remembered. Partnering with Tiger Shroff is a step in that direction – bringing together the intensity of cinema and the thrill of gaming in a way that speaks directly to India’s youth. This collaboration is designed to give our players an experience that feels personal, aspirational, and truly reflective of the energy of our community.”
Tiger Shroff added,“I’m super excited to collaborate with BGMI and connect with fans in such an interactive way. Gaming is all about action, adrenaline, and energy- which is exactly how I approach my films and performances. Now, BGMI players can experience that same vibe on the battleground, and I can’t wait to see them in action with my in-game persona”
The partnership with Tiger Shroff builds on BGMI’s previous collaborations with Bollywood power couple Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, and cements the video game’s position as a pop cultural phenomenon.
According to ASN data, Krafton India, the parent company of BGMI, has invested US$572k in the Asian sponsorship market since Q324, and the main deal has been an endorsement with Deepika Padukone. The forecast for Q425 is poised to hit US$151k, slightly over 2.5 x of the usual average quarterly investment of US$60,250, and the latest endorsement with Tiger Shroff sees would certainly push the numbers up.
