Chinese fintech major Ant International has struck a deal with English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.
The three-year partnership sees Ant International and its brands Alipay+, Antom, and WorldFirst become the exclusive official global payment solutions and digital wallet partners of the club. It involves Alipay+ becoming the first official training wear sleeve partner for the North London club’s team.
Ant International will also back Spurs on activations to drive growth and engagement with the club’s fanbase in the Asia-Pacific region via its partner digital payment apps, including Alipay.
The club will team up with Alipay+ and Antom on enhancing the payment experience at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and on e-commerce platforms.
According to ASN data, Alibaba Group, the parent company of Ant International, is forecasted for a very rosy Q324 with sponsorship spending poised to reach almost US$131.1m, about 5.9 x of the conglomerate’s average of US$22.1m+. Ant International’s has previously sponsored the last two UEFA Euro national team tournaments.
