Japanese retailer Daiso have secured a multi-year sponsorship deal with MLB franchise Los Angeles Dodgers.
Under the deal, Daiso is set to have prominent placement in the media backdrop for player interviews, as well as having signage behind home plate at Dodger Stadium, and the Dodgers’ Spring Training home at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Arizona. Additionally, the Dodgers will celebrate Daiso as a presenting partner of the Shohei Ohtani Bobblehead promotional giveaway in late August.
With Japanese baseball star Ohtani leading the Dodgers, it is no surprise that Daiso have become the MLB’s franchise fourth Japanese sponsor after striking deals with All Nippon Airways, Toyo Tyres and Kowa Company recently.
According to ASN data, Daiso’s only sponsorship deals have been involved in backing fashion festival Tokyo Girls Collection in 2022 and 2023. The deal was worth US$75k for each annual edition of the influential fashion festival. As for baseball (3.6%, US$518.5m+) is the 8th largest backed sport in the Asian sponsorship market since Q321, and figures are tipped to hit almost US$59.1m for Q224, a 25% jump from the quarterly investment average of almost US$47.3m.
