Japanese legacy carrier All Nippon Airways (ANA) have sealed a multi-year partnership with MLB giant Los Angeles Dodgers.
Under the deal, ANA has become the official Japanese airline partner of the legendary seven-time World Series champions.
It also grants ANA prominent visibility at the Dodger Stadium and on television broadcasts. Besides branding, ANA will also be involved in engagement efforts such as sponsoring key giveaway nights and teaming up with the Los Angeles Baseball Club to celebrate Japanese culture through annual Heritage Nights.
Following the deal, ANA President and CEO, Shinichi Inoue, said, “Today marks an exciting milestone for ANA as we embark on a collaboration to become the Official Japanese Airline of the Los Angeles Dodgers. We take great pride in this partnership to further deepen our relationship with the vibrant city of Los Angeles.”
Lon Rosen, Executive Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer, Los Angeles Dodgers, added, “The Dodgers are excited to take flight with All Nippon Airways as a corporate partner for the 2024 season and beyond. We are taking advantage of several of our platforms to showcase the ANA brand. Together, these displays will drive brand exposure for ANA to more than 4 million in-stadium fans and millions of fans watching from home.”
According to ASN data, All Nippon Airways (ANA) is the 6th largest spender (6.4%, ~US$26.5m) for the airline category since Q321. Following the US$15m investment in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in Q321, spendings have averaged between US$911k and US$1.3m from Q421 to present, and its latest partnership with the Los Angeles Dodgers is poised to spike up its numbers. As for Dodgers, the deal with ANA adds onto its landmark partnership with Taiwan’s Starlux Airlines, which was renewed for another three years earlier in January.
