CustomCraft, which specialises in engineering parts such as steam turbines and screw decanters, will invest almost US$1.5m (RM6m) until 2021 with FAM. The deal – the first since the recent appointment of FAM’s new president Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin in early July – will come in handy in implementing several national football initiatives, including grassroots plans.
CustomCraft Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Yeong King Hui said he had high confidence in the authority of the new FAM president, Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin in continuing the legacy of the Tunku Mahkota of Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, the previous president.
“We at CustomCraft believe that Datuk Hamidin will be able to continue Tunku Ismail’s legacy in moulding and rebuilding Malaysian football to be on the right track and to bring back the glory of Harimau Malaya on the international stage,” Datuk Yeong King Hui added following the deal.
Currently, Telekom Malaysia is the biggest partner of the Malaysian National football, spending around US$2m a year while the likes of Yakult, Bank Islam, Nike and 100Plus have smaller, official deals.
