Google Cloud has broadened its role as the official AI and technology partner for electric racing series Formula E.
Under the multi-year extension, Google Cloud will continue as Formula E’s official cloud technology services partner and official cloud security partner in a wider capacity.
The extension builds on the initial agreement between Formula E and Google Cloud in 2024, in which the former leveraged on the partnership to migrate its data to Google Cloud and employees to Google Workspace for collaboration.
With the expanded deal, Google Cloud will bank on a range of tools such as the tech giant’s Vertex AI platform, Gemini Platforms and BigQuerv to supercharge Formula E’s AI capabilities and deepen fan engagement.
It will also enhance Formula E’s cybersecurity measures and play a pivotal role in the series’ GENBETA racing car development programme.
Jeff Dodds, Formula E chief executive, exclaimed, “We’re thrilled to announce an enhanced multi-year partnership with Google Cloud that will not just increase our technological capabilities, but enhance our broader growth and evolution as a championship.”
