Global Energy Brand Aggreko Renews SailGP Deal  

Global energy solutions brand Aggreko has extended its ties with SailGP in a multi-year renewal deal. 

For the next three seasons, Aggreko is poised to continue as SailGP’s temporary power supplier, building on a reportedly US$1.5m deal which first began in 2021. 

All three of the current 2025 season’s events—in Sydney, Auckland, and Dubai—have so far been entirely powered by clean energy on-shore. The extension of the partnership comes ahead of the Los Angeles Sail Grand Prix, which will be held on March 15 and 16. 

Julien Di Biase, Chief Operating Officer at SailGP, said, “Having a major events group like Aggreko support driving change has been invaluable—from installing the largest temporary solar array at a sporting event in Dubai on our behalf, to helping us find clean energy solutions for events worldwide.”

According to ASN data, Aggreko which is involved in partnering Formula 1 and Formula E, has previously backed the 2022 Singapore Women’s Open golf event and the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan. Meanwhile, the energy and gas industry has invested slightly over US$57.7m in the Asian sponsorship industry since Q222, with an average quarterly investment of almost US$5.2m during this period.
